Healthy Eating
at Magic Mountain Country Home
What
can be better than all-natural and fresh ingredients in each and every
meal we serve at Magic Mountain Country Home? At our country home, we
encourage our guests to increase their
awareness of the role of nutrition in the pursuit of optimum health.
Changing the way we think about eating and food is the key to success.
We do not advocate deprivation or
severe restriction, as we know it is not conducive to long term success
or a healthy short term solution. All meals are guaranteed to be
satisfying and energizing.
As practicing members of the (nternational Slowfood Movementf (www.slowfood.com) we support small scale local
farmers and food producers
We
bake our own country breads and pastries; we stuff fresh sausages the
old-fashioned way (without harmful additives), and we also produce our
own bacon and pancetta. We get fresh cow and goat milk from a nearby
dairy farm for home-made cheese and yogurt.
Our
own organic vegetable-, herb-, and flower gardens provide us and our
guests with nature’s bounty.
Breakfast
We
are passionate about breakfast, and the Magic Mountain breakfast
experience is particularly close to our hearts. Time to chat, plan the
day in a relaxed manner, and allow yourself to be tempted by such
delicacies as savory or sweet omelets (made with farm-fresh eggs from
happy chickens), home-made breakfast sausages or bacon, buttermilk
pancakes or elegant crab crepes.
Accompaniments may include home-baked breads, scones, cinnamon rolls,
roasted potatoes with garden vegetables, brazed asparagus with
sun-dried tomatoes, or maybe golden fried polenta with maple syrup.
Home-made muesli, preserves, fresh fruits, juices, tea, coffee, or
cocoa will complete your meal.
Dinner
Clean, crisp mountain air and invigorating
activities stimulate appetites . . . and that’s something we understand
here at Magic Mountain Country Home. We welcome guests to a retreat
right here at home, surrounded by our flowers and, weather permitting,
a majestic mountain view. You may wish to experience an elegant,
candle-light dinner on your verandah, or dine in the garden where local
and international specialties, hearty Western barbecues, or simple
combinations are particularly enjoyable.
Imagination and variety go into every meal, including entrees such as:
T-Bone Steak Tuscan-style
(600 grams)
Wiener Schnitzel - An
Austrian Classic
Braised Chicken Basque-style
Ragout of Venison and Chorizo
Grilled Mullet French-West
Indies style
Backhendl - Roast Chicken
Vienna-style
