Oh, these
vast, calm, measureless mountain days, inciting at once to work and
rest! Days in whose light everything seems equally divine, opening a
thousand windows to show us God. Nevermore, however scary, should one
faint by the way who gains the blessings of another mountain day;
whatever his fate, long life, short life, stormy or calm, he is rich
forever. John Muir.

We
especially loved the home-baked bread at breakfast - a different loaf
every day ... Lily is a warm and considerate hostess ...

Magic Mountain Country Home was by far the highlight of our experience in
Sabah ... It was wonderful to spend our first evening in Sabah at this
delightful country home, where Peter and Lily provided us with the
first of many delicious meals ... as others have noted, they make their
own breads and sausages, and the lunch they packed for our climb up the
mountain was the envy of those who had relied on less than inspiring
packed lunches provided (by a local five star resort). When we had
descended from the mountain, our hosts prepared a hot bath for us with
fresh chamomile fro their garden ... In all, our experience at Magic
Moiuntain Country Home was exceptional and we recommend it t anyone who
wants an intimate, edifying introudction to this part of the world, far
beyond any commercial resort, however many stars, can ever offer. It is
Peter's and Lily's personal attention to every detail of their guests'
comfort that makes this one of the world's best kept secret.
